Amongst one of the (many other) things my kids drive me absolutely nuts is the fact that they are little destroyers!
Little because they are young but BIG at the act destroying. Anything that comes their way or tickles their curiosity gets somewhat damaged or mutilated... Toys, books, home decors, walls, cupboards, daily essentials...the list is almost endless. I don't remember behaving like this when we were kids, or maybe because if we did, we knew we had to meet the "sweet cane". Despite the many efforts to teach them NOT to do it AGAIN (from sweet talking to yelling to putting them in corners and even introducing the "sweet cane"); they will do it again and AGAIN. Even "Kau Foo", the disciplinary master of all time, gave up when we spent 5 weeks in their home in Paris.
Let me share with you SOME of their "brilliant" work.
Toys
This puzzle belonged to Sophie. The box is mutilated to an unrecognized level and Popo had to patch it up by using scrap paper. Almost like mending your old, favourite T-Shirt over and over again.
You can see the amount of scrap papers on the sides of the box Sorry, Kao Mou...
One of them broke the shower. I suspect it was Mei Mei since it was Isabelle's favourite toy
Some of the fishes were broken into pieces (which I've since thrown away). And some were mouthless
| This toy orange was also broken into pieces. Really do not know how they did it. I still managed to salvage one of the sides with large cellotapes. |
Home Decor
| This is one of Popo's favourite deco item. Don't you think it's beautiful? |
Look closely. Her arms are broken and the pot sitting on the head came off too. Thank goodness for Super Glue!
| Even the curtain holder was not spared. See the sides of the rose have chipped. |
Books
One of my day job is to fix torn/damaged books. Taping endless pages of which have been torn over and over again. There are many other books, but I probably need a whole new post dedicated to it just to show you those!
Walls, Cupboards... and any other places possible.
They both seem to have a strong affinity with pen and pencils on any form of surface material other than paper!
| This was the work of Mei Mei. While I was showering one day, she drew like Van Gogh... emotionally, boldly on all 4 cupboard doors. |
| And after spending a good 40 minutes cleaning it up, I found this again the next day =.=| |
| Work of Isabelle. This is Popo's new kitchen wall painted with expensive Nippon warm grey. See how she's keen to learn to write alphabets, but at the wrong place? |
| Work of Mei Mei on Gong Gong's cabinet |
| Mei Mei again on Popo's favourite sofa |
| Even the iPad was not spared by Mei Mei. And this was after trying to clean off most of it. |
| There goes my Prada!!! |
Glasses
| Why? Why...??? This is my favourite pair! |
Telephone
And the winner of it all is the house telephone. You won't believe it, but every single telephone at home is damaged to bits and we would cello tape it, masking tape it and super glue it!
| Phone located in family hall |
| Phone located in the study room |
| Phone located in Yiyi's room |
| Phone located in my room. The hand set was as though it was being exploded with bomb. Too damaged beyond words, I had to change the entire hand set. |
Now you see what the little destroyers are capable off...?
Really heart pain... hmmm but so far no damage to the girls' Baba's stuff yet? :P
