Mei Mei Turns 2

Oh how time REALLY flies in a wink of an eye!! Here she is and my little baby will turn 2 on 29th April. She is cheeky, always up to some mischief, this little one. She can blow your head off when she gets up to no good, her cries are deafening... but at most times, she melts your heart and sweeps you off your feet with her cute smile, tight little hugs and sloppy kisses. That's my lil' Kristabelle Chong.

Last weekend, we had the pleasure of Kor, Dai Sou, Soph and Ju back home. So what better way to celebrate Mei Mei's birthday than to have the complete family at the comfort of home. We had a fun night filled with smoky yummy BBQ, piping hot soup of steamboat, and a lot of shrieks and laughters from the kids. Home was filled with nothing but joy. Ahhh... such simple pleasures of life :)

Po po busy making a very special birthday cake

Voila! The final work....Yes, Mei Mei still loves Mickey

Cute lil' rabbits as the finishing touch

The verdict: the best birthday cake EVER - 5 star for taste and presentation

The rest of the entourage getting busy with decor

A little backdrop for the little one

And of course, some photo op with it

I love this picture of the cousins :)

The Chong sisters

Our little family. So difficult to get a perfect shot =.=|

The birthday girl herself

Best cousins :)

One more with all 4 cousins in it!

And games for the kids! Pin the donkey's tail

This was really funny. I actually tried to blindfold Mei Mei to pin the donkey's tail.
Kor was saying, she can't even do it with her eyes open, what more blindfolded. Duhhhh!! Hahaha...

And we had the fishing game. I think the kids enjoyed this. A small bath tub filled with water and pressies in them. They just had to fish the pressies out and they get to keep it. Ju got the most pressies. Boys will always be better at fishing!

Isabelle talking more than fishing =.=|

Cake time. Look who's getting impatient

Smiley kids. I think I had at least 20 shots of this and this was the best.

Mei Mei getting really impatient. Hehe...
Oh just one last pic, Mei Mei...

I love you, my little munchkin. Happy Birthday!
(Silly girl still has some BBQ sausages in her mouth).

Time to UBAH!

YES! It is finally happening. GE13 has been the talk of town for the past... many, many months. After much delays in abolishing our parliament, the Election Commission has finally announced 05.05.2013 to be the polling date. By now, all party flags are plastered everywhere and anywhere possible. Candidates are all charged up with their own agendas, in vain to win that one more vote from its people. The scene is getting very intense in every corner of Malaysia.

All Malaysians were very anxious on the announcement of the polling date. I cannot imagine the kind of outburst and intensity when they announce the results *Nail biting*

I pray for a fair and clean election. Seriously, Malaysia is in real need of smart, good and righteous people to run the country. This is for the future of our kids, our family and the whole next generation.

Time to UBAH!

Little Destroyers

Amongst one of the (many other) things my kids drive me absolutely nuts is the fact that they are little destroyers! Little because they are young but BIG at the act destroying. Anything that comes their way or tickles their curiosity gets somewhat damaged or mutilated... Toys, books, home decors, walls, cupboards, daily essentials...the list is almost endless. I don't remember behaving like this when we were kids, or maybe because if we did, we knew we had to meet the "sweet cane". Despite the many efforts to teach them NOT to do it AGAIN (from sweet talking to yelling to putting them in corners and even introducing the "sweet cane"); they will do it again and AGAIN. Even "Kau Foo", the disciplinary master of all time, gave up when we spent 5 weeks in their home in Paris.

Let me share with you SOME of their "brilliant" work.

Toys
This puzzle belonged to Sophie. The box is mutilated to an unrecognized level and Popo had to patch it up by using scrap paper. Almost like mending your old, favourite T-Shirt over and over again.

You can see the amount of scrap papers on the sides of the box
Sorry, Kao Mou...
One of them broke the shower. I suspect it was Mei Mei since it was Isabelle's favourite toy
Some of the fishes were broken into pieces (which I've since thrown away). And some were mouthless
This toy orange was also broken into pieces. Really do not know how they did it. I still managed to salvage one of the sides with large cellotapes.

Home Decor
This is one of Popo's favourite deco item. Don't you think it's beautiful?
Look closely. Her arms are broken and the pot sitting on the head came off too. Thank goodness for Super Glue!
Even the curtain holder was not spared. See the sides of the rose have chipped.

Books
One of my day job is to fix torn/damaged books. Taping endless pages of which have been torn over and over again. There are many other books, but I probably need a whole new post dedicated to it just to show you those!

Walls, Cupboards... and any other places possible.
They both seem to have a strong affinity with pen and pencils on any form of surface material other than paper!
This was the work of Mei Mei. While I was showering one day, she drew like Van Gogh... emotionally, boldly on all 4 cupboard doors.
And after spending a good 40 minutes cleaning it up, I found this again the next day =.=|

Work of Isabelle. This is Popo's new kitchen wall painted with expensive Nippon warm grey.  See how she's keen to learn to write alphabets, but at the wrong place?
Work of Mei Mei on Gong Gong's cabinet
Mei Mei again on Popo's favourite sofa

Even the iPad was not spared by Mei Mei. And this was after trying to clean off most of it.

There goes my Prada!!!

Glasses
Why? Why...??? This is my favourite pair!

Telephone
And the winner of it all is the house telephone. You won't believe it, but every single telephone at home is damaged to bits and we would cello tape it, masking tape it and super glue it!

Phone located in family hall

Phone located in the study room

Phone located in Yiyi's room

Phone located in my room. The hand set was as though it was being exploded with bomb. Too damaged beyond words, I had to change the entire hand set.

Now you see what the little destroyers are capable off...?
